Just use the template editor (and now the blogger template designer), do your customization, preview, save and you are good to go. But sometimes a small mistake may ruin your whole template. That’s why you must always backup your template before touching any template codes. Don’t know how to backup your Blogger template? Follow the simple steps below and backup your template within a minute.
- Login to your Blogger.com account.
- In the dashboard find your blog and click the Design/Template link.
- Then click the “Edit HTML” tab, which is right after “Page Elements” under the Design/Template section.
- Inside “Edit HTML” tab you will find a “Download Full Template” link. Click that link and save the file in your preferred location.
- That’s it. The backup copy of your blogger template is now in your hard drive. Just don’t forget the location where you saved it.
Now you have a backup copy of your template. During template modification if something goes wrong, simply go to “Backup / Restore Template” under the “Edit HTML” section and upload the backup copy to restore it. A simple precaution may save a lot of your time. What you say?
